Decideret - Gewürtztraminer 2020
Grapes from Beblenheim, Alsace and apples from Fyn.
After a five day maceration on the road from Gewürztraminer grapes from Sons of Wine in Alsace arrived safely in Nordhavn. We pressed them instantly and the outcome was a very aromatic skin contact white wine from Gewürztraminer. Perfume, spice, light tannins.
The leftover grape skins were then added to another wine from Rød Aroma apples from Fyn. We left them to macerate for 60 days. In December 2020 the wine from grapes (20 %) was blended with the wine from apples (80 %) and bottled with a pinch of freshly pressed Holsteiner Cox apples. Second fermentation on the bottle.
The Gewürztraminer has perfume for the nose and lots of spices, tropical fruits and a bit of tannin that is balanced out with a quenchy acidity from the apples.
Gewürztraminer is a collaboration between Decideret, Du vin aux Liens and Sons of Wine.
